Being stranded on an island with five sexy strangers sure sounds good on paper… but not at the cost of your dream job and all of the amenities of modern life! You’re trying to focus on survival, but things start to get heated… are these feelings real, or is it the island sun getting to you?! (Lovestruck Fandom Wiki)
Hey guys, Gray here, and before I get into this review, I wanted to bring something to everyone’s attention about the Lovestruck Team from Voltage USA. This message reached me on Tumblr, and I want to help spread the word and support them, as I believe in this gifted storytelling team of creative writers. Please read their PSA below:
Hi everyone! We are the Voltage Organized Workers!
The writers of Lovestruck have come together to unanimously demand better working conditions, greater transparency, and increased protections. To that end, we asked the management of Voltage USA to recognize us and meet our demands – and since management has refused, we will be going on strike.
All of the Lovestruck writers are members of marginalized genders and/or sexualities. We have been given an invaluable foot in the door to the industry and a platform to tell stories that represent our voices, our passion, and our experiences. We are also all fans of the app, and we care deeply about the stories we tell.
However, not only are we paid less than half the industry standard rate, we are asked to meet extremely tight deadlines and produce enormous amounts of content without protections or benefits.
We want to see our hard work and commitment to authentic storytelling given the value it deserves.
Want to help us? Well first off–thanks!
The best thing you can do is send messages to Lovestruck contact asking them to recognize us.
All our fans are important to us. You’re the people supporting us, and we hope that you will help us improve our situation. We know that you have your own concerns, and we’re confident that this move will help to address those as well.
While our strike won’t immediately affect content in the app, it will certainly delay stories that you’re eager to see. There is a contact field on the Voltage website, and the more they hear from fans, the more likely they are to want to talk to us.
Above all, please do NOT boycott the game. We’re counting on you still being there and reading the stories you love.
Please also do not send anyone any harassment, on our behalf or otherwise. We do not condone such behavior. Keep your messages respectful. At the end of the day, the people you’re messaging are still our coworkers, and we want to get back to work as quickly as possible.
Message us with questions here or on any of the social media accounts listed below!
(Just bear in mind that there are some questions we can’t answer without breaking our NDAs.)
We’re hoping to have good news for you within a few days, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated of any developments.
Voltage Organized Workers
THE MAIN HEROINE
MC is a journalist doing a story on a new cruise ship. When a storm hits the crew gets shipwrecked on a magical island with few inhabitants. Like the others, MC has trouble adjusting at first, but she soon learns her way around the island. It is implied on Serena Zhang’s route that the MC is Native Hawaiian.
THE CASTAWAYS LOVE INTERESTS
TK is the arrogant but easy to tease photographer you’re paired up with for your article. He runs hot pretty easily, and you both tend to banter off one another throughout the game. Howeverm even if it seems like you both are arguing to others, the debates you have are more of a game–and actually fun when you think about it. When you both are shipwrecked on the island, TK starts to invoke his inner Lara Croft/Indiana Jones, sparking your curiousity–Just what does TK know about this island?
Arthur is a mysterious and a great cook, he comes off as polite and seems like an upstanding gentleman. However, as the game progresses, he seems to be hiding some kind of agenda from everyone, including his knowledge about the island you shipwrecked on. He may have a cute face, but consider what he says towards you at face value, be cautious, young player, as this millionaire is harboring secrets that might make or break your relationship.
Logan is the flirty engineer who you can’t take seriously because he reminds you of the stereotypical surfer dudes from the 80s B-Flicks. While he doesn’t say, “tubular” or anything close to it, he does give off that kind of vibe, however, he’s very passionate about his work. When you get stranded on the island, he’s either all over you or deeply engrossed in his work. He’s a strange one, should we get closer to finding out who Logan really is?
Hot headed and a little intimidating, Joaquin is the type of guy to stop at nothing to get what he wants… and what he wants is you.
He’s a sexy badboy who’s not afraid to go for what he wants, making his moves on you right away. You feel an immediate attraction, but the others warn you to stay away… Will you decide to pursue this potentially dangerous man? (Fandom Wiki)
Serena is the calm, collected, and cool ship doctor of the crew, and she can sometimes be a little uptight. However, this young doctor isn’t some pushover and she is definitely a force to be reckoned with that even Clyde won’t mess with her. When we first meet her, she’s doesn’t want to get close to anyone, but there’s a past pain she hides from the crew… Will you uncover what is holding Serena back from moving forward?
Captain, My Captain… Hello Clyde Hughes–YUM~ Ahem… Okay, Clyde is retired military and is the manly captain of the ship that you were on before it got shipwrecked. He is charming, overly protective, but he seems pretty bad with handling emotional situations. However, you can’t help but feel like the man can put you under some kind of spell whenever he smiles at you.
GETTING SHIPWRECKED WITH TK YOON
Don’t let his cute face fool you, this man is a Tsundere butthead who can easily run hot and hold when he gets embarrassed. When we first meet TK it’s on the ship, and we find out he’s actually our partner for the article that we are writing. He’s come along as the main photographer for your writing piece but he’s arrogant and seems to always have to have the last word in an argument. This gets pretty annoying quick, but the working relationship you have with him is imperative for your next big break.
When disaster hits the cruise liner, you find yourself shipwrecked with the rest of the cast on a mysterious island that has ancient ruins and dilapidated spaceships? Did we also see dinosaur bones?!
After making it safely to a patch of ruins that everyone has gathered at, the floor beneath you suddenly gives way and a gaping hole appears beneath you. In that moment of life or death, TK reaches out for you to keep you from falling, however, the sudden shift in weight causes both of you to plummet below the ruins and get lost in an underground labyrinth beneath the ancient civilization.
It’s beneath the weird island that your relationship begins to blossom and we come to understand TK and how to interpret what he states. He can come off pretty harsh, but don’t run off after seeing that, because the MC gives serves sass and sarcasm all right back to him ten-fold. The dynamic between the MC and TK is that of a love/hate relationship but they soon begin to realize that there’s also underlying tension between the two of them (BSTANYONE?). TK and the MC begin to develop trust and mutual respect for one another, and also, they start to have plenty of times to joke with one another (as seen in the slides above).
The two are a force to be reckoned with and aren’t a couple to put on the backburner in this dating simulation. Getting shipwrecked with TK sure seemed like a hassle in the beginning, but as the tropical heat sets in between the two of you, all that aggravation turns into something romantic and sexy.
FALLING FOR TK
Falling for him isn’t easy as there’s a lot of sarcasm and insults we hurl at each other for the hell of us having a verbal sparring match. He isn’t someone who likes to lose, so when we find out about a few of his weaknesses, oh boy… that makes him so embarrassed he has a hard time admitting to them. TK has his moments of being a hothead which does cause issues with the MC and him, but when it gets down to the high wire, he will do everything in his power to be beside you.
While he may tease you from time to time, you learn how to easily read through his comments and turn the tables back onto him. When he does fall in love with you, be prepared for that crazy hot passion and sultry nights with TK. I needed water, and usually, when I need water, it’s because some of the scenes managed to turn me red because of certain CG depictions. If you’re looking for some island fun under the tropical sun, with a relationship that will always keep you engaged. Look no further than TK Yoon of Castaways: Love’s Adventure on Lovestruck.
I certainly had a lot of fun poking fun at TK in this game, and while I preferred when the game was a standalone app–I’ll deal. He is another one of the rare Tsundere types that I can handle and enjoy romancing, as he’s easy to tease and also easy to figure out. This is an incredibly well-done story, and I’m grateful to the team of Voltage USA Lovestruck for creating such a marvelous game.
Please, if you are also a fan like myself and enjoy Lovestruck’s app, please help support them and also message the Voltage USA company on recognizes such a great team.
As always, thanks for stopping by, thank you for supporting these games and see you on the gaming side!
